Every August, Monterey is transformed. The roads hum with the sound of engines worth more than most homes. Polished vehicles arrive by air and by freight. The world's rarest and most coveted cars gather under the sun for a week of elegance, adrenaline, and high-stakes exposure.
But behind all the shine? There’s someone working tirelessly to keep it together.
Last year at Fiori + Mare, we had the privilege of hosting one of those people. A fleet manager responsible for an extraordinary lineup of vehicles—new releases from an iconic brand, each one a masterpiece of design and engineering.
From dawn until long after dark, we watched this manager work with an energy and precision that was nothing short of awe-inspiring. He coordinated luxury detailing services, oversaw the loading and unloading of vehicles from massive enclosed transporters, managed photoshoots and test drives, fielded constant calls, and even made time for Zoom meetings with his team back at headquarters in New York.
He was also the one picking up coworkers from the airport. The one checking tire pressure before anyone else arrived. The one keeping everything and everyone running, on schedule and in sync.
And despite the demands, he remained gracious, friendly, and kind. He even paused each morning to greet our new puppy, which speaks volumes about the kind of professional—and person—he is.
Hosting him wasn’t just about space—it was about creating breathing room for someone carrying immense responsibility. We saw up close how essential this role is, and how rarely it’s acknowledged.
So this post is our thank you.
To the fleet managers of Car Week:
You are the backbone of the beauty.
The calm in the chaos.
The reason the magic appears seamless.
We see you.
We appreciate you.
And we’re honored to play a small part in supporting what you do so well.
